About the role

The Mater Mothers’, Women’s and Pelvic Health team is seeking a high-achieving final-year Physiotherapy student to join our team on a casual basis in a Trainee Physiotherapist role. This position requires a minimum commitment of two days per week from November 2025 through to January 2026 and is ideal for someone planning to pursue a New Graduate Physiotherapy position at Mater Hospitals Brisbane.

(HP1) Salary range: $30.95 - $36.41 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Trainee Physiotherapist (HP1), you will undertake allocated clinical activities that would otherwise be performed by a Physiotherapist (HP3 or above). These tasks will be entrusted to you based on your prior training, clinical placement experience, and demonstrated competence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering delegated physiotherapy interventions under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist (HP3 or above)
• Performing clinical activities that align with your previous placement experience and proven capabilities
• Documenting all allocated activities and relevant training in your Clinical Activity Register
• Participating in supervision and feedback sessions to guide your development
• Identifying and communicating learning needs to support your clinical growth

About you

• A clear understanding of your scope of practice and professional responsibility to work within it
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• A commitment to ongoing learning, with a proactive approach to feedback and skill development
• A flexible and responsive attitude to clinical demands and service needs
• The ability to follow direction and clinical guidance from supervising physiotherapists (HP3 and above)
