About the role
Mater Speech Pathology is excited to offer a new opportunity for an experienced Allied Health Assistant to join our dedicated team on a permanent full-time basis. Our team works with neonatal, paediatric and adult patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, and we’re expanding our services to support families and improve care outcomes in innovative ways.

Salary range: $34.02 - $35.68 per hour plus 12% superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will be a vital member of our collaborative care team, working closely with Speech Pathologists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering treatment (including education) to adult inpatients and outpatients under the direction of a Speech Pathologist
  • Supporting projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of Speech Pathology patient care
  • Providing compassionate assistance to families with babies admitted to Mater Mothers' Hospitals
  • Assisting clinicians with non-clinical tasks, including processing referrals, data entry and auditing
  • Developing and maintaining resources
  • Setting and packing up clinical resources for the provision of paediatric outpatient assessment and intervention
  • Liaising with hospital departments to coordinate services with Speech Pathology (e.g. volunteer support)

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities, especially in multidisciplinary settings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently
  • Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant and a Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistance (highly regarded)
