About the role Mater Allied Health are looking for an Allied Health Strategy Delivery and Improvement Officer to join the team on a Full-time Maximum term basis until June 2026, located at our South Brisbane Campus.
The Allied Health Strategy, Delivery and Improvement Officer (SDIO) drives and facilitates the Allied Health Business Strategy and Digital Enhancement Initiative. This initiative aims to use available digital resources, including Insync and the M365 applications, to enhance patient care and experience, improve workflows and increase sustainability by reducing duplication and paper-based processes.
The Allied Health SDIO will work with the Allied Health Governance Committee, clinicians and consumers to drive targeted continuous improvements in health service delivery, supporting best-practice clinical standards and processes, innovation and excellence, transforming the way we deliver services.
Develop, support and administer priority/targeted clinical applications, ensuring their functionality and optimal use by clinical staff and consumers
Conduct systematic assessments of patients and workflows using an outcome-based framework to identify opportunities for digital enhancement
Establish priorities for resolution of identified digital health needs in consultation with clinicians and consumers
Participate in the development and implementation of innovative, digitally enabled models of care that improve patient engagement and experience
Benchmark with peer facilities/healthcare organisations and within Mater to understand existing and available opportunities for digital solutions
Operate within Allied Health Executive cost centre budget under direction of Allied Health Director
Perform, analyse and report cost benefit analyses with respect to the implementation of new models of care and digital solutions
Identify and lead targeted improvements in clinical workflows and patient care using digital health technologies
Provide guidance or seek advice around clinical processes and digital health technologies, including electronic medical records (EMRs), patient flow management systems, and other clinical applications
Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology, healthcare or business field with proven experience or education/training in project management or demonstrated equivalent experience
Awareness and understanding of Allied Health caseloads, workflows, processes and models of care (desirable)
High level digital literacy and ability to develop inhouse applications using M365 tools (e.g. PowerApps, SharePoint, Power BI, MS forms)
Experience leading clinical redesign and process improvement
Knowledge of co-design methodologies and their application in healthcare settings.
Expertise in utilising digital resources, such as the automation design tools, telemedicine platforms, mobile applications, and data analytics tools, to improve clinical workflows (desirable)
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive chang e
Ability to evaluate and monitor new initiatives
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clinicians, consumers and stakeholders (internal and external)
