About the role
Maters Epilepsy Unit is on the search for a permanent full-time EEG Scientist, 38 hours per week. This exciting role will see you join our existing team of three EEG scientists, to participate in the Mater Epilepsy Unit’s diagnostic programme including out-patient and in-patient EEG, video-EEG and stereo-EEG for epilepsy presurgical evaluation.
Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Typical duties of the role include performing and reporting tests as described below:
- Routine EEG including provocation methods using international 10-10 and 10-20 electrode array systems
- Sleep deprived prolonged EEGs
- Ambulatory EEGs
- Video EEG monitoring using international 10-10 electrode array system
- Intracerebral monitoring, cortical stimulation and EEG analysis using stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG)
- Electrocorticography (EcoG)
- Ictal SPECT
- Possibility of nerve conduction studies
- Possibility of transcranial magnetic stimulation
About you
Our EEG Scientist will have:
- Bachelor of Science or Applied Science or Biomedical Science
- Prior experience in EEG in a hospital setting
- Prior experience in writing technical EEG reports in a clinical setting
- Ideally, prior experience of EEG used in epilepsy
- Eagerness to learn
- Strong team player
