About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Officer, Quality and Safety – SEQ to join our dedicated team. This full-time, 12-month maximum-term role supports our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
Working within Mater’s Quality and Safety team, you’ll play a key role in supporting accreditation processes, managing safety and quality data, and contributing to continuous improvement across Mater’s South East Queensland facilities.
Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this diverse and rewarding role, you will:
- Maintain and manage quality and safety data systems across Mater’s South East Queensland hospitals
- Support accreditation activities through accurate document control, version management, and timely coordination of reports and evidence
- Prepare and format reports, meeting papers, and committee documentation to support key governance processes
- Perform secretarial duties for meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking
- Enter and manage data across multiple systems, including Excel, SharePoint, and Word
- Acknowledge and triage email complaints, entering them into the C-Gov system and forwarding to the appropriate team (training provided)
- Manage the MARS audit system to allocate clinical audits across SEQ hospitals (training provided)
- Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to enhance quality and safety processes and promote continuous improvement
- Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Quality and Safety team
About you
You’ll be an organised and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes pride in supporting systems that improve quality, safety, and patient care. To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Interest in implementing and maintaining quality management systems and improvement processes
- Experience in administrative support, ideally within healthcare or a corporate environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and other data management or IT systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging across all levels
- Analytical and problem-solving ability with a proactive and self-motivated approach
- High level of reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy in documentation
- Previous experience supporting meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking
- Tertiary qualification in business administration, health services, or a related field (desirable)
- Familiarity with accreditation, audit, or quality improvement processes within healthcare (desirable)
- Full training provided in C-Gov and MARS audit systems, with a comprehensive orientation to support your transition into the team
