Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Clinical Midwife to join our Antenatal Clinic team in a permanent, part time day shift opportunity.
Based at our Springfield Community Clinics, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $54.44 – $58.30 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Clinical Midwife (CM) performs all aspects of Nursing care with particular consideration to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient/client in a safe, effective and patient focussed manner. This clinical leadership role provides and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care, where advanced clinical skills and knowledge underpin care coordination, collaboration and communication within the Nursing and interdisciplinary team, for excellence in patient outcomes.
The successful applicant will provide clinical midwifery leadership and management on a day-to-day basis delegated by the NUM and deliver evidence-based care to women ranging from the care of normal, low risk women through to complex obstetric, medical and gynaecology care requiring an extensive multidisciplinary approach.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum 3 years’ experience and it is essential that you have:
- Current Midwifery registration and nursing registration with AHPRA
- Considerable post-graduate midwifery experience in a maternity setting and preferably also in gynaecology nursing
- Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing/midwifery practice
- Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and midwifery practice, and to continuing professional development of self and others
- Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team
