About the role
Mater Audiology Department has an exciting opportunity for an experienced diagnostic Audiologist to join the team in a full-time, 7-month parental leave maximum-term contract with the potential for extension.
Mater's Audiology Department provides a diverse range of diagnostic tertiary level audiology services including comprehensive vestibular testing, suitability for cochlear implantation and diagnostic assessments of neonates referred through the Healthy Hearing newborn hearing screening program The department has a large cochlear adult implant program and offers outreach services via telehealth. The Audiologists specialise in complex caseloads requiring a high degree of skill & independence. The department offer both public & private services.
Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As an Audiologist you will deliver high quality, evidence based, and comprehensive audiological clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team to stakeholders/customers of Mater. Responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Deliver quality audiology clinical services across a variety of caseloads with a particular focus on comprehensive vestibular testing
- Liaise with patients, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers to achieve outstanding outcomes
- Accurately and concisely record all patient interaction and service data in line with departmental guidelines
- Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning and by engaging in professional development activities
- Ability to provide clinical supervision to less experienced staff and students
This is an opportunity to develop further skills in specialist areas including comprehensive vestibular assessment.
About you
The ideal candidate will have Tertiary (post-graduate) qualification in Audiology, recognised by Audiology Australia and eligibility for full membership of Audiology Australia and participation in continuing professional development activities equivalent to Audiology Australia requirements.
- Eligibility for a Medicare provider number
- Skills to deliver quality audiology clinical services across a variety of age groups and caseloads with a particular focus on diagnostic assessments in an outpatient setting
- Experience with audiological assessments including diagnostic vestibular assessments
- Ability to apply increasingly independent evidence-based clinical judgement/decision making to more complex clinical cases under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team to deliver quality clinical services
- Work co-operatively and effectively within the Audiology Department and a multidisciplinary team and with patients/clients
