About the role
Join Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg as our new Education Coordinator – a newly created role designed to support our education team and support our graduate nurses! We’re excited to offer a permanent part-time opportunity working 24 hours per week, where you’ll play a key role in guiding and mentoring graduate nurses across our medical and surgical wards, as well as within our perioperative department.
The Education Coordinator will play a crucial role in planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating education activities and resources to meet the learning needs of Mater staff and the community. This position aims to enhance health literacy and outcomes while building workforce capacity and competence through evidence-based education. This position will be directly supporting and facilitating our Graduate Program.
Salary range: $66.85 – $72.58 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As the Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering education and practice development outcomes and implementing High-Value Healthcare across Mater. With your clinical expertise, you will collaborate with Clinical Facilitators, Mater Education and key stakeholders to support Mater's Strategic and Operational plans.
- Building interprofessional workforce capacity, capability, and competence through the provision of contemporary and evidence-based education, learning activities and practice
- Designing and evaluating evidence-based resources and learning opportunities to meet the needs of Mater and the community
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop tailored learning plans for staff requiring additional support
- Engaging in educational research and quality improvement initiative
- Supporting professional development and performance management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and competency standards
- Incorporating simulation methodology to enhance skills, knowledge, and teamwork in an interprofessional environment
- Collaborating with Nurse Unit Managers and Clinical Facilitators to ensure staff compliance with mandatory education requirements
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualification in teaching or education equivalent, highly desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty area or working towards one, highly desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment(current).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the relevant specialty.
- Passion for education and supporting junior workforces
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical education.
