About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg are currently seeking a Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis. We are looking for a flexible Physiotherapist who is available to cover shifts across the 7-day roster period, primarily on weekends Saturday/Sunday. There may be opportunity to pick up additional shifts providing cover for planned leave periods
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg has been caring for the people of Bundaberg and surrounds since 1946. Our 59-bed facility is dedicated to supporting our community to live happy and healthy lives. Complemented by our specialist clinical and nursing staff, delivering personalised healthcare for you that meets the highest standards. It has free on-site parking. The Allied Health team manage a clinical load including inpatient medical, orthopaedic, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative patients, and are involved in pre-admission and post-operative management of elective orthopaedic patients.
Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Typical tasks of the role include:
- Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
- Provide delegation, supervision, and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers – as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams – as required.
- Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies
- Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise
About you
You will be a AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Experience working in an acute hospital setting and across rehabilitation services
- A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Physiotherapy clinical services commensurate with level, and to manage a varying caseload day to day, including provision of an appropriate clinical handover as required
- Demonstrated attributes of solutions focus, flexibility and resilience
- Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with professional and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
- Be able to work independently and within a team and prioritise workloads appropriately.[JM2]
