Join our team at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton as an Assistant in Nursing on a Casual basis. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to provide safe and quality patient-centered care under the guidance of experienced clinical teams.

Salary range: $33.20 - $36.35 per hour plus Casual Loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

The Assistant in Nursing assists and supports the clinical teams in providing safe and quality patient-centered care under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.

  • Gathering information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptly
  • Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertise
  • Undertaking observations and assessments
  • Following the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff member
  • Assisting with safe mobility, patient hygiene and toileting, including appearance and dietary needs
  • Reporting any concerns and feedback to the Team Leader/RN to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients

About you

To be considered suitable for the AIN position you will be:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or Health Services Assistance
  • Flexibility to work in various wards, adaptability to seamlessly integrate in to different teams and work under different NUMs
  • Commitment to excellence in nursing practice and professional development
  • Proficiency in digital and computer skills, including Microsoft 365 applications
  • Prior comparable experience as an Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Assistant (Desirable)
