Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is inviting experienced ward based Registered Nurses who are ready to take the next step in their career to apply for a Clinical Nurse position within our Medical/ Surgical Ward. The successful applicant will be offered permanent, part-time employment with the flexibility of a 0.6 - 0.8 FTE contract. You will be required to work across a rotating 24/7 roster including early, late, night and weekend shifts.
Mater Bundaberg is a 59-bed facility comprising both surgical and medical/rehabilitation units. Our Surgical Ward manages a diverse range of cases including orthopaedics, gynaecology, general surgery, and ENT procedures. Our Medical/Rehabilitation Ward supports patients across the acute and sub-acute spectrum, providing comprehensive care tailored to individual recovery needs.
Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will use your advanced clinical skills and knowledge to support patients, guide nursing teams, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best practice and positive health outcomes. You’ll contribute to clinical education, mentor junior staff, and lead by example in maintaining professional standards and improving service delivery.
About you

To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a ward based nursing role
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no practice restrictions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
