About the role

Mater Cancer Care Centre (MCCC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at the South Brisbane campus. This permanent full-time position offers the chance to play a vital leadership role in delivering excellence in patient-centred cancer care within a values-driven and collaborative environment.

Mater Cancer Care Centre aims to offer services to both public and private patients within a modern state-of-the-art facility which provides individually personalised, comprehensive and compassionate care. The MCCC includes specialist suites, consultation rooms, cancer care treatment pods, palliative care, support programs and a specialised pharmacy.

Specialising in woman’s cancers, haematology, oncology and palliative care with a dedicated area for apheresis, this busy unit coordinates 60 treatments per day and works closely with our South Brisbane private and public Oncology wards including outreach to the Mater Redland and Springfield hospitals.

Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Clinical Nurse, you’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients within the MCCC, ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of each person. You will lead and support clinical excellence through advanced practice, coordination, and mentoring of nursing staff. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you’ll promote safe, efficient, and compassionate care that supports positive patient outcomes and continuous improvement across the unit.

About you

You are a dedicated and compassionate nurse who demonstrates strong clinical leadership and a commitment to delivering exceptional care. Your ability to guide and support colleagues, collaborate effectively, and contribute to service improvement will see you succeed in this rewarding role.

You will also bring:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of three years’ full-time equivalent clinical experience in Cancer nursing or a related specialty
  • Advanced clinical skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety
  • Proven ability to mentor and support junior staff and foster a positive team environment
  • Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills
  • (Desirable) Postgraduate qualification in Cancer nursing or a relevant specialty
