Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Administration Manager to join us in a permanent, full-time role commencing in December 2025. Based at our Springfield campus, this role will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.  

 Salary range: $124,394 - $133,248 (MCA6) per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing 

The Manager is a member of the Finance and Operations Leadership Team within the Mater Springfield Portfolio and has direct accountability to the Finance and Operations Manager of this team. Through this role the Manger provides strong leadership in upholding Mater’s Mission, Vision and Values, aligning the operational plans of these services to the Mater Health Strategic Objectives. 

This role will manage all elements of these Services, benchmarking to maintain efficient processes, systems, staffing and knowledge that supports excellence in patient care and experience. The Manager is responsible for optimal performance in service delivery by embedding a culture of continuous improvement within the team.  This includes identifying and implementing opportunities to improve efficiency through the use of technology, critical analysis and redesign of administration processes, to support overall improvement in organisational performance.

Strong internal relationships are essential to the success of this role and will ensure all elements of these services are responsive to the needs of our patients and clinical service areas.  The Manager will collaborate closely with other Mater Managers to embed an integrated approach to services and strengthen Mater as a whole. 

About you 

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience leading a large team within a health setting. You will also meet the below criteria:

  • Qualification in Business Administration (or similar) highly regarded
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • High level office and information systems management skills
  • Financial acumen and detailed knowledge of health-related funding arrangements and terminology
  • Advanced knowledge of improvement frameworks and proven track record in continuously improving services
