Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join our Paediatrics team in a Permanent Part Time (0.5 FTE) position.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, family-centred care in a modern healthcare environment, supporting infants, children and adolescents throughout their healthcare journey. Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to our youngest patients and their families.

Based at our Springfield campus, this position will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — recently opened in 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range: $37.00 - $39.36 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and the wider healthcare team to deliver exceptional paediatric care.

You will:

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Nurse
  • Conduct patient observations, assessments and nursing interventions, escalating concerns as required
  • Support children and their families through treatment, procedures and recovery
  • Assist with care planning, discharge planning and health education activities
  • Advocate for patients and families, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout their care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality and safety initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and support the learning and development of students and new staff

About you

You are a caring and adaptable Enrolled Nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional care to children and families.

You will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing experience, ideally within paediatrics, acute care or a related specialty
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Commitment to delivering safe, patient-centred care and achieving positive clinical outcomes
  • Sound clinical assessment and problem-solving skills within scope of practice
  • Understanding of quality, safety and infection prevention principles
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
  • Availability to work a rotating roster across a 24/7 service as required
