Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking experienced Clinical Nurses to join our Emergency Department team in permanent full-time and part-time positions. Based at Mater Hospital Springfield, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality emergency care while helping shape a growing service in a modern, patient-focused hospital.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide advanced clinical care while supporting the coordination of patient care and team activities within the Emergency Department. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to clinical leadership, promote evidence-based practice, and help deliver safe, compassionate and high-quality care for every patient.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! ONLY GO UP TO 3.7. DO NOT INCLUDE HP3.8.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will provide advanced clinical care and contribute to the effective coordination and leadership of the Emergency Department team. You will:

Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care using advanced clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions

Coordinate patient care within the multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes

Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff within the unit

Act as a clinical resource and mentor for less experienced staff

Contribute to the efficient coordination of patient flow and unit activities

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and service delivery

Support the implementation of new models of care and service improvements

Promote a safe environment for patients, families and staff in line with organisational policies and clinical standards
About you
You are a highly skilled and collaborative clinician who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and supporting a high-performing team environment. You will bring:

Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Minimum three years’ experience in an Emergency Department or relevant acute clinical specialty

Tertiary qualification in a relevant clinical specialty (postgraduate qualification desirable or working towards)

Demonstrated ability to provide advanced clinical care and coordinate patient management

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Experience supporting, mentoring or guiding junior nursing staff

Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement

Ability to contribute positively to a supportive, professional team environment aligned with Mater’s Mission and Values
