About the role
Join Mater Health as an Occupational Therapy Assistant based in South Brisbane, working full-time in a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across a range of clinical specialties. You will support occupational therapists in providing high-quality allied health services within an innovative and supportive healthcare environment.
Salary range: $34.87 to $36.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will manage a delegated caseload, delivering clinical assessments and treatments under the guidance of occupational therapists. You will assist with patient programs, group treatments, and education, while also supporting clinical documentation and equipment management. Additionally, you will play a key role in setting up therapy resources, supporting telehealth services, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
About you
To be considered for this position you should have:
- Certificate IV or III in Allied Health Assistance (highly regarded)
- Proven experience in a similar clinical role within hospital, sub-acute, disability, or community health settings
- Ability to work autonomously within a delegated scope of practice in a complex environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and carers
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with sound digital literacy skills
- Flexible and responsive to changing patient and service needs
