About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Enrolled Nurse to join our Day Procedure Unit and Welcome Lounge in a full-time, permanent position. Salary range: $35.93 - $38.21 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice while contributing to an exceptional experience for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments and communicating findings to the Registered Nurse.
  • Implementing delegated, evidence-based nursing interventions and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Supporting effective discharge planning processes as delegated by the RN.
  • Educating patients using appropriate resources to promote understanding and optimise health outcomes.
  • Advocating for patients by ensuring consent processes and communication are clear and respectful.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment, including adherence to infection prevention practices.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Mater policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Supporting student nurses and less experienced Enrolled Nurses through teaching and mentoring.

About you

You are an enthusiastic and patient-centred Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced perioperative environment and demonstrates strong teamwork, communication, and clinical capability.

You will bring:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Proven ability to deliver safe, evidence-based care within scope of practice.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to Mater’s Values, behavioural standards, and patient-centred care.
  • Ability to uphold infection prevention standards and contribute to a safe care environment.
  • Willingness to support continuous improvement and embrace change.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to build positive relationships across the care team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
