About the role

Mater is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst – Private Hospitals to join our Finance team based in Newstead. This exciting permanent, full-time is an opportunity to provide expert financial oversight and strategic analysis across Mater’s private hospital portfolio, ensuring operational excellence and long-term sustainability. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead financial modelling and analysis for business cases, strategic investments, mergers, and divestments.
  • Provide expert financial support for hospital operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Drive financial efficiency by identifying cost optimisation opportunities and supporting performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and commercial teams to deliver strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.

About you
To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
  • CPA/CA qualification (or working towards).
  • Proven experience working within a private hospital environment (essential).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior financial analyst role.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions and private hospital operations (desirable).
