About the role

Catherine’s House, at Mater Hospital Brisbane, is seeking an experienced Team Leader – Outpatient & Community to join our pioneering perinatal mental health service in a full-time, permanent capacity. As Australia’s first integrated mother and baby unit, Catherine’s House delivers specialist inpatient, outpatient and community-based mental health care for mothers, babies and families. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a highly specialised, statewide service, shaping contemporary, family-centred models of care while leading a multidisciplinary allied health workforce.

Salary range: $81.47 - $83.33 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this senior leadership role, you will provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership across outpatient and community services, working in close partnership with inpatient teams and the wider Catherine’s House leadership group. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing community-based and outpatient perinatal mental health services
  • Providing expert clinical leadership in contemporary, evidence-based perinatal and infant mental health practice
  • Operationally managing multidisciplinary teams, including staffing, resources, budgets and service delivery
  • Working collaboratively with nursing, psychiatry, administration and allied health leaders to ensure integrated, high-performing services
  • Driving quality, safety, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Leading the development and implementation of policies, procedures and innovative models of care
  • Supporting education, research and workforce development across Catherine’s House
  • Building strong partnerships with internal Mater services and external statewide stakeholders
  • Promoting infant-centred, family-focused care that strengthens the mother–baby dyad

About you

You are an accomplished allied health professional and leader with a strong commitment to perinatal and infant mental health, and a passion for delivering integrated, family-centred care. You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Allied Health discipline (HP5 level or equivalent)
  • Significant leadership experience within mental health, outpatient or community-based services
  • Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in perinatal and/or infant mental health
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams in complex clinical environments
  • Strong operational management capability, including workforce, financial and service planning
  • Highly developed clinical judgement, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience contributing to quality improvement, education and/or research initiatives
  • A values-driven leadership style aligned with Mater’s Mission, Values and Behavioural Standards

Postgraduate qualifications in management or clinical leadership, experience in ambulatory settings, research involvement, and clinical supervision experience are highly regarded.
