Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Business Support Officers to join us in multiple permanent, full-time roles. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide high-level administrative support to Directors and Senior Leaders within a private practice environment
  • Manage diaries, meetings, agendas, minutes, and executive correspondence
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including PageUp requests and interview scheduling
  • Support rostering, leave, and workforce updates through Kronos
  • Maintain accurate data, reports, spreadsheets, and departmental databases
  • Process invoices, D365 requests, and support private billing activities
  • Coordinate operational requests including IT, BEIMS, CAPEX, and facilities matters
  • Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with workshops, forums, education sessions, and special events
  • Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and adherence to Mater policies, procedures, and values

About you

  • Proven experience in healthcare or private practice administration (minimum 2 years highly desirable)
  • Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage professionally and discreetly
  • Experienced in managing confidential and sensitive information
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to exercise judgement, initiative, and problem-solving within established guidelines
  • Collaborative team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive workplace culture
  • Background in nursing or clinical environments is desirable but not essential
