About the role
Mater Health is seeking an organised and proactive Business Support Officer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in South Brisbane.
This role provides dedicated business and administrative support to the Director of Anaesthesia and the wider Anaesthetic Department, playing a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to a busy clinical department, contributing to efficiency and service delivery through:
- Supporting the Director of Anaesthesia and wider team with day-to-day administrative requirements
- Coordinating HR onboarding, staff transitions, and orientation processes
- Maintaining ROTA rosters, Kronos timecards, and leave management
- Assisting with recruitment administration and HR documentation
- Coordinating departmental meetings, including agendas, minutes, and room bookings
- Maintaining spreadsheets, databases, calendars, and departmental records
- Supporting reporting, data entry, and general administration tasks
- Assisting with purchasing, invoicing, and operational resource coordination
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects
About you
You are a detail-oriented and adaptable administrator who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys supporting senior leaders. You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in administration or business support (healthcare or medical setting desirable)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience or willingness to learn rostering systems, time and attendance, and HR processes
- Confident communication skills with a professional and service-focused approach
- High attention to detail and strong data entry and reporting skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
