About the role
Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Services Coordinator to join our Business Services team in a full-time, permanent capacity.
This pivotal leadership role sits at the centre of Mater’s revenue cycle, coordinating billing operations, strengthening commercial provider relationships, and leading a high-performing business services team. It’s an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who enjoys driving continuous improvement while supporting the delivery of exceptional patient and stakeholder experiences.
Salary range: $54.57 - $59.38 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will provide operational leadership and oversight of Mater’s business services and billing functions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strong financial outcomes.
Lead and coordinate end-to-end revenue cycle and billing processes across Mater Hospitals Brisbane, Springfield and Mothers
Maximise revenue and cashflow through effective billing practices, KPI management, and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Business Services team
Manage and maintain strong commercial relationships with Medical Officers, private health insurers, Medicare, and internal stakeholders
Resolve complex billing and invoice disputes while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships
Oversee month-end processes, reporting, and data-driven decision making
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, contracts, policies, and governance requirements
About you
You are a confident and collaborative people leader with strong technical expertise in health billing and a passion for delivering high-quality business services.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in health-related billing, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role
Proven experience leading teams and coordinating complex operational workflows
Strong understanding of healthcare billing legislation, contracts, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective commercial and clinical relationships
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to analyse data and drive performance outcomes
