About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in their career! Our Perioperative Department is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to transition into a Clinical Nurse Level 2 role within our dynamic Cardiac Cath Lab team. This permanent, part-time position (32 hours per week) is based at our Pimlico campus.

MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.

Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
  • Managing and building rosters for the department
  • Working closely with the NUM in identifying and developing quality improvement projects
  • Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
  • Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirements
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting with preferred experience in Cath lab Recovery
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded although not essential
  • Strong knowledge of ACORN and NSQHS Standards
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater Values
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
