About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Administration Officer to join the Ambulatory Services team on a full-time basis. This role will be a 4-month secondment maternity leave cover.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Mater's Ambulatory Services Administration team, dedicated to the provision of exceptional care and service delivery. 

Salary: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As an Administration Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering exceptional reception, telephone, and call centre services, with a strong focus on patient, visitor, and staff experience.
  • Ensuring clear and effective communication across various hospital departments and services.
  • Managing patient information within multiple databases, including:
    - Registering and updating patient details
    - Managing referrals
    - Coordinating waitlists
    - Scheduling appointments
    - Performing other administrative duties as directed by your line manager.

We are seeking a motivated individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

About you

  • Previous experience in a medical administration support role within a hospital/healthcare environment
  • Advanced computer skills including competence in using multiple Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn these systems)
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and a learning mindset
  • Strong focus on data quality, and the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
