About the role
Mater Education has an exciting opportunity with our Student Placement Team for a Student Facilitator. This is a casual position based at South Brisbane. The student facilitator will assist the students to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for practice within the clinical environment as a beginning practitioner level registered/nurse.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The student facilitator will act as a professional role model for students and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with Education Providers to enhance the learning experience. Typical duties of the role include:
Facilitation of training, development and assessment of individual students on structured programs to ensure high quality outcomes
In consultation with the Student Placement Manager and Education Provider, develop learning plans and assess student performance against agreed standards of practice relevant to course curriculum for students experiencing performance.
Orientation and onboarding to clinical areas to ensure optimal learning
Build strong and effective coaching relationships with students by applying engaging and effective facilitation approaches to optimise engagement and learning
Make use of and distribute appropriate and useful resources to support development
Ensure work hours are reflective of the need of the business to ensure maximum exposure to students.
Liaise with Education team regarding student progression
Ensure invoicing spread sheet is accurate and up to date.
About you
Current and unrestricted registration and endorsement (where applicable) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience
TAESS00011 Assessor Skill set or TAE 40116 Training and Assessment in the Workplace (desirable)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous facilitation experience preferred but not essential
Strong time management, attention to detail and organisational skills
Awareness of APHRA Standards of Practice: Registered Nurses & Enrolled Nurses
A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
