About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for an Enrolled Nurse to join the Mater Cancer Care Centre (MCCC) at Mater Hospital South Brisbane on a maximum term, part-time contract (24 hours per week) for 12 months.
This role plays a vital part in supporting public outpatient clinics and Fast Track services, helping to ensure seamless clinic flow and high-quality, compassionate care for patients receiving oncology, haematology and palliative care services.
Salary range: $35.93 - $38.21 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will support the delivery of safe, patient-centred care within a busy outpatient environment. Key responsibilities include:
Providing delegated nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, aligned with professional standards and scope of practice
Preparing and supporting public outpatient clinics and Fast Track services to ensure efficient patient flow
Undertaking comprehensive nursing assessments and implementing evidence-based interventions as delegated
Coordinating clinic appointments and supporting smooth clinic operations through effective communication and organisation
Contributing to clinic room preparation, infection control practices, and resource efficiency
Advocating for patients and supporting education, discharge planning, and informed consent processes
About you
You are a compassionate and capable Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and values teamwork. You will bring:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
A minimum of two years’ experience in Oncology, Haematology, or Palliative Care (essential)
Demonstrated competency in CVAD assessment and management
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
The ability to prioritise workload effectively while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
