Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Senior Occupational Therapist (HP4) – (Lymphoedema trained) to join us in a permanent, part-time role (0.8 FTE). Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Occupational Therapist (lymphoedema trained), you will report to the Occupational Therapy Team Leader and will provide patient-centred, evidence-based clinical care in the acute inpatient wards and outpatient department. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Contributing to the development and review of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols in lymphoedema management across both inpatients and outpatients.
- Providing lymphoedema assessment and treatment interventions across inpatients and outpatients.
- Independently delivering routine occupational therapy assessments and interventions on the inpatient wards, as caseloads require.
- Providing delegation and supervision to occupational therapy assistants, and where relevant, more junior occupational therapists.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, carers, and external agencies to facilitate holistic, patient-centred care.
- Identifying, developing, and participating in quality and service improvement initiatives to enhance clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively translating research evidence into clinical practice to improve occupational therapy care
- Participating in continuing professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical expertise
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy degree
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Lymphoedema qualified therapist
- Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
- Proven ability to independently provide lymphoedema assessments and interventions in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, patients, and careers
