About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit! This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will carry overall responsibility for the organisation and management of the unit. By providing a clear focus for clinical and operational leadership, the NUM facilitates provision of a high standard of holistic patient/client centred care, to maximise effective management of clinical, financial, and human resources within a quality and risk management framework.
Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Management of our rehabilitation unit in partnership with our medical, nursing and administrative teams
- Collaboration with Allied Health team to achieve patient Rehab goals as well as facilitating Rehabilitation Specialist Nursing expertise in FIM outcomes.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for clinical service development and improvement in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services – Mater Private Hospital Brisbane
- Developing, improving and monitoring systems and processes to ensure service is managed effectively and efficiently
- Professional line management of the nursing team
- Working closely with a large group of Visiting Medical Officers to provide exceptional care for their patients
This specialist role will see you managing an established team with a great mix of new graduates and highly experienced nursing staff, so you will need the ability to work with a diverse range of people in a range of specialties.
About you
- Extensive post-graduate specialty nursing experience, preferably minimum 5 years
- Current AHPRA nursing registration
- Solid understanding of private health care
- Proven use of exceptional communication skill to motivate and lead a team to achieve goals
- Strong change management skills and influencing/negotiating experience
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to effectively manage a clinical cost centre
- AROC data collection expertise essential.
- Ability to collaborate closely with Allied Health in the day to day running of the Unit to achieve patient Rehab goals as well as facilitating Rehabilitation Specialist Nursing expertise in FIM outcomes.
