Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking a compassionate and motivated Enrolled Nurse to join our Day Surgery Unit team on a full-time or part-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring they feel informed, supported and confident at every stage of their perioperative journey. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced and patient-focused environment

This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range: $35.93 - $38.21 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing

In this patient-centred role, you will support the delivery of comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.

You will:

  • Perform delegated nursing care in accordance with NMBA standards and Mater policies.
  • Conduct structured patient assessments and communicate findings effectively with the RN, throughout the admission and post-operative journey of the patient.
  • Implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing interventions within scope of practice.
  • Support effective discharge planning and patient education processes.
  • Advocate for patients, ensuring informed consent and understanding of procedures.
  • Follow correct escalation processes.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control, safety and quality at all times.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless perioperative care.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and positive patient experience.

About you

You are a caring and organised Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

You will bring:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver delegated nursing care safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to patient advocacy.
  • Sound clinical assessment skills within scope of practice.
  • Commitment to infection control, quality improvement and safe practice.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Motivation to contribute to professional development and continuous learning.
