About the role

Join our Group Finance team as a Senior Clinical Products Advisor in one permanent full-time and one fixed-term full-time role, based at our Newstead office.

This position is responsible for providing leadership and clinical products subject matter expertise to ensure cohesive, best practice strategic procurement arrangements. This role will promote continuous improvement and mitigate risks to enable a focus on best practice and positive patient outcomes through management of clinical product procurement, product quality issues, product substitutions and product recalls.

Salary range: $62.74 - $67.20 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services at Mater Hospitals while gaining valuable experience in healthcare finance and analysis.

  • Provide advice on clinical products, contribute to clinical procurement and purchasing activities and liaise directly with clinicians and non-clinicians regarding issues related to clinical products. 
  • Manage a program of work to develop a standardised, efficient and progressive product evaluation approach for Mater and its customer base.
  • Provide objective feedback, clinical guidance and proactive engagement to innovate, select, and approve clinical products.
  • Develop and maintain a depth of knowledge of relevant supplier markets, capabilities and technology and be responsible for ensuring sustainable, compliant services.
  • Effectively liaise between Procurement and Mater stakeholders, ensuring products available are clinically appropriate and cost-effective. Investigate and provide expert advice to specify appropriate product standards and regulations for relevant areas.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic and expert advice relating to the procurement of clinical consumables and equipment.
  • Extensive clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute hospital critical care or operating room setting.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical consumables across a broad range of clinical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex customer and supplier issues, including the ability to resolve supplier performance issues; support internal customers in the development of complex specifications; and ensure materials/services are delivered according to contract.
