About the role Mater Mothers’ Hospitals are seeking a motivated and dedicated Clinical Nurse / Midwife to join the Infection Control team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife to gain further knowledge and experience within Infection Control.
This is a maximum-term contract for 0.4 FTE until 7/08/2026. There will be set working days: Monday and Thursday , with room to cover ARL and backfill support to the team.
Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing You will join a dynamic team of highly skilled multidisciplinary professionals, and your enthusiasm and dedication for nursing / midwifery will be highly valued within a supportive and professional environment.
This role will see you:
Assist and support all members of the Infection Management team in the delivery of the South-east Queensland regional Infection Management program.
Utilise computer programs including Microsoft (MS) Office, Infection Control software and hospital patient and pathology management systems.
Undertake risk assessments, surveillance, investigations and compliance audits including provision of feedback to staff.
Assist with outbreak management and contact tracing.
Manage patients across Mater Mothers’ hospitals with significant organisms of concern including liaising with staff.
Improve patient safety, through strengthening the workforce and engaging in quality improvement activities.
Provide education and training to Mater Mothers’ staff in infection control procedures and practices.
About you To be successful for this position you will possess:
Current Registered Nurse and/or Midwife AHPRA registration with no restrictions
High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
Ability to collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
Flexibility to work most days and during school holiday periods
