Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking those looking to work full time as Senior House Officer’s within our Emergency Department, to provide medical care under the supervision and direction of PHOs and Senior Medical staff, on a maximum term basis in 2026 for 12 months.

This is your opportunity to grow as a clinician in a high-acuity, diverse, and supportive learning environment, with access to world-class education, mentorship. We are recruiting 12 SHO’s for our Springfield Campus. Springfield Emergency will open in May 2026.

Salary range: $53.65 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assessments of patients attending the Emergency Department
  • Planning overall clinical care
  • Selecting and organising appropriate investigations.
  • The day-to-day review of patients and safe handover of patient care to other clinical staff
  • Documentation of the patient’s progress in the patient record.
  • The timely preparation of discharge letters, discharge summaries and other      
  • Reports as required by the Hospital.

About you

To be considered for a position applicant should:  

  • Be eligible for General or Provisional Registration with AHPRA.
  • Have at least 2-year relevant clinical postgraduate experience in Australia or a Country of Competent Authority according to AHPRA
  • Prior Emergency experience is desirable, but not compulsory
