About the role

Mater Health is seeking an experienced Administration Team Leader in a permanent full time basis to lead the delivery of exceptional administrative services within Catherine’s House and across Mater Young Adults Services and Mental Health Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring an outstanding patient, family and clinician experience—balancing day to day operations with continuous improvement, team leadership and alignment to service and organisational objectives.

Salary range: $93,103 - $102,572 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead a high-performing administration team, optimise systems and resources, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and drive operational and financial efficiency—all while upholding Mater’s Mission, Values, and behavioural standards.

  • Lead, coach and support the administration team
  • Oversee workflows, rostering, onboarding and performance management
  • Build effective relationships with clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Coordinate priorities and improve administration systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance, data quality, safety and service efficiency
  • Contribute to budgeting, financial sustainability and service optimisation
  • Support change management and improvement initiatives across the service

About you

You will bring strong leadership capability, excellent communication skills and experience in a complex health environment.

  • Experience in a busy clinical service (public or private mental health/complex care)
  • Prior administration management experience in healthcare
  • Strong systems skills and financial acumen
  • 2+ years leading a large team in a health setting
  • Qualification in Business Administration (or similar)
  • Ability to lead teams and support staff performance
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work flexibly under competing demands
  • High attention to detail and proficiency with practice management systems
  • A patient‑centred service approach
