Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Clinical Equipment Loan Officer to join us in a permanent, full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $34.87- $36.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this important role, you will be the key link in ensuring clinical areas have access to clean, safe, and serviceable medical equipment when they need it most. Your daily activities will include managing the collection, inspection, and redistribution of equipment, as well as maintaining accurate electronic records to support operational efficiency and compliance.
- Collect used clinical equipment multiple times daily from wards and clinical areas to ensure availability
- Clean and safety test equipment to meet hygiene and operational standards before loaning out
- Maintain adequate equipment stock levels in clinical areas to prevent shortages
- Record all loan transactions and equipment availability in the management system for tracking and accountability
- Identify equipment due for preventative maintenance, safety testing, or repair and coordinate timely processing
- Support warehousing duties such as unloading, storage, and distribution of medical consumables to aid overall hospital operations
- Promote workplace safety and contribute to a ‘zero harm’ culture for patients and staff
- Collaborate with team members and participate in continuous quality improvement activities
- Adhere to Mater’s policies, procedures, and behavioural standards to uphold service excellence
About you

- Experience or knowledge of the healthcare industry is advantageous
- Ability to operate, maintain, and manage clinical equipment and consumables
- Commitment to achieving daily targets and maintaining high standards
- Safety-focused with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams
