Mater is seeking an experienced Test Lead to oversee the end‑to‑end testing program for our UKG Pro Workforce Management implementation. This role is perfect for a senior testing professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys leading test strategy, governance, execution and stakeholder engagement across large‑scale programs. This is a maximum-term (up to 12 months), full-time role based at our Newstead offices.

Salary range: $139,436 - $149,640 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for end‑to‑end testing across SIT, Payroll Parallel, UAT and cutover validation. Working with HR, Payroll, Operations, DTI and the UKG vendor, you’ll ensure the solution performs accurately across time capture, award interpretation, integrations and payroll outcomes.

The role combines leadership with hands‑on work—driving test frameworks, scenario design, defect management and environment readiness.

  • Develop and maintain the program test strategy, standards and governance
  • Lead planning, scheduling and prioritisation of test cycles
  • Oversee end‑to‑end test scenarios across time capture, rostering, pay rules, leave and payroll integration
  • Lead Payroll Parallel testing, reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Coordinate UAT and external testing phases
  • Run defect triage and manage risks, reporting and readiness assessments
  • Mentor testers and uplift testing capability across the program 

About you 

  • Experience as a Test Lead or Test Manager in complex programs
  • Strong understanding of testing lifecycle, QA and test governance
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tools
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Experience with WFM, HRIS or Payroll systems (Kronos/UKG desirable)
  • Knowledge of award interpretation or payroll dependencies (advantageous)
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or Management
  • Demonstrated Test Lead experience
  • Exposure to Time & Attendance, Payroll or HRIS systems
  • ISTQB Advanced (desirable)
  • Health industry experience (desirable)
