About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the Department on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours per week). The Emergency Department at Mater Hospital Brisbane provides a comprehensive 24-hour emergency service, delivering high-quality care to adult patients in a fast-paced and supportive clinical environment. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, staff have access to a wide range of specialist services across the Mater campus to support timely assessment, treatment and patient outcomes.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse , you will provide clinical leadership, support and education within the unit to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care. You will act as a key clinical resource for staff, supporting best practice, strengthening team capability and contributing to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise clinical care, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred outcomes
Apply advanced clinical decision-making and problem solving in your specialty area
Mentor, educate and support staff to build team capability
Contribute to quality improvement, accreditation, and governance initiatives
Promote evidence-based practice and compliance with national standards
Model Mater’s Mission and Values, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace
Provide constructive feedback, support conflict resolution, and enhance clinical decision-making
Act as shift coordinator when required and participate in committees and projects
Identify opportunities to improve patient care and clinical processes
Maintain your own professional development, competencies, and adherence to WHS and infection control policies
About you
To be considered for the role, you must have:
Current Registered Nurse with APHRA
Minimum of three years’ experience in specific clinical specialty
Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
Proven clinical leadership and team capability building
Advanced clinical expertise relevant to the unit/specialty
Strong ability to communicate complex information clearly
