About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane Emergency Department have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the team in this maximum term 12 month contract, part time (32hrs per week) position based at South Brisbane.

The department offers a 24-hour comprehensive emergency service for adult patients, staffed by experienced emergency doctors, nurses, training registrars and house officers. The department provides care to adolescents and adults with a full range of acute illness and injuries.

Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), you will be a clinical expert and will provide advice and guidance in all matters relating to Nursing clinical governance within Emergency Services. This role will see you provide exceptional clinical guidance and leadership to our Emergency Services Nursing Team and drive patient centred outcomes and innovation across the department.

You will support the Nurse Manager - Emergency Services in delivering high level clinical care and guidance to staff and patient across Mater Hospital Brisbane Emergency Department. As a clinical senior leader in this team, you will provide exceptional nursing clinical leadership and be responsible for the educational support, adequate resources and consultancy within Emergency Services. Additionally, you will ensure the provision of best practice, quality and safety aspects of patient care.

About you

As the successful candidate you will have: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Post graduate qualification in emergency nursing (or working towards)
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in Emergency, with advanced clinical competency and experience
  • You will have strong leadership ability and experience, as well as excellent time management skills
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
  • Demonstrated high level of communication (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate with your team as an effective senior leader
