About the role
Mater Health is seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to join our Administration Services team at the South Brisbane campus on a casual basis. There are multiple vacancies available to join our team casually.

In this role, you will support the efficient running of the unit while helping create a welcoming and positive experience for patients, their families, and clinical staff.
Salary range: $32.02 – $37.35 per hour plus superannuation and casual loading and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide high-quality administrative support that underpins safe, efficient, and patient-centred care within the unit, including:
- Coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and updating related documentation
- Providing reception/administration support, including patient check-ins, health fund verification, Medicare verifications and payments
- Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patients and clients
- Maintaining accurate records and data within hospital information systems
- Supporting clinical staff with timely administrative assistance and information flow
- Managing filing, correspondence, and record management in line with policy and compliance requirements
- Contributing to smooth daily operations by identifying and resolving administrative issues promptly
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current, and accessible files, including maintenance of patient records for discharge
- Working collaboratively with the broader Administration Services team to support service delivery and patient experience
About you
You are a proactive and organised administrator who takes pride in delivering excellent service and supporting others to do their best work, and you will bring:
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare or clinical environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and health information systems (or similar)
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work across a 6 day roster (Monday – Saturday) between 6.30am-7pm.
