About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical Ward on a permanent part-time, 24 hours per week.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will deliver safe, patient-centred and evidence-based nursing care within our Acute Medical Ward, with responsibilities that include:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and optimise patient care and discharge planning
  • Maintain compliance with Mater policies, procedures and infection-prevention standards to support a safe environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and service delivery
  • Support and mentor students and less experienced staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth
  • Ensure accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation and communication with patients, families and colleagues

About you

You are a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to delivering exceptional care. You will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated experience in an acute medical or similar acute care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to Mater’s Values, patient safety and quality care standards
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills
  • Willingness to support students and contribute to ongoing team development
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, professional growth and reflective practice
