About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Paediatric Ward team. We offer a Permanent Part-Time opportunity, with flexibility to work 24–32 hours per week. This role operates on a 24/7 rotating roster, and applicants must be able to work across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

We provide surgery for babies, children and adolescents, offering age appropriate, compassionate care. Our Paediatrics Team is experienced in helping both you and your child relax during your stay with us. We support you and your child from admission through to recovery, and explain what is happening in simple language to help reduce any fears or concerns. We provide specialised paediatric care covering general medical and surgical care for treatments including: Dental, Ear, nose and throat, General surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic surgery and Urology

Salary range: $41.73 – $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

About you

We are searching for a nurse with a passion for Paediatric care to seamlessly join the team and hit-the-ground-running, continuing your nursing career and providing exceptional care for our patients and their families from day one. As such, you will possess:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
• Minimum 12 months post graduate experience in a acute hospital setting
• Demonstrated paediatric nursing experience is desirable but not essential 
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
• Strong paediatric focus and passion for providing family centred care
• The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team 
• A commitment to learn and develop your skills and commitment to the continued quality improvement and best practice principles within your role
