About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has vacancies across multiple areas that we are looking to recruit through a group Assessment Centre. The Assessment Centre will include an introduction to Mater, our current vacancies and introduction to the Mater Private Administration Team, a group activity, patient facing scenario and a 1:1 interview.

Our current vacancies are located in Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Admissions, Front Reception, Ward Services, Emergency Department and Bookings Office.

These vacancies are Senior Administration Officer roles. We will be considering applications from those who apply to this assessment centre advertisement and if you're successful to attend on the day, we will reach out to you with all of the details on how to attend.

The Assessment Centre will be held on: Wednesday 13th May from 1pm - 3:30pm. We will not be rescheduling this date so please apply if you can attend this date. 

We have varying requirements for availability depending on the departments. We have requirements for the below hours:

Admissions: 7-day roster, including public holidays, with shifts between 5:30am and 8:30pm. We require full availability for shifts.
Emergency Department: 7-day roster, 24/7. We require full availability for shifts
Ward Services: Monday - Friday. 6:30am - 3pm
Bookings: Monday - Friday rotating roster across 7:30am - 5pm

We are seeking the below hours:

Admissions: one maximum term contract until August (38 hours per week), one permanent part time (36 hours per week) and one permanent part time (32 hours per week)
Emergency Department: permanent part time 32 hours per week
Ward Services: permanent part time 28 hours per week
Bookings: permanent part time 24 hours per week

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage, organize, and provide confidential administrative support to the various wards ensuring areas are efficiently managed, representing Mater with strong customer focus to staff, patients and visitors
  • Ability to respond competently in emergency situations, remaining calm and composed and to ‘think on your feet.’
  • Performing administrative functions as required, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Team
  • Providing outstanding customer service to patients, families, and stakeholders
  • Updating patient demographics in IPM to ensure accurate and timely discharge documentation
  • Processing patient transfers and discharges, including preparing clinical forms 

About you

  • High level customer service, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide efficient and effective administrative support in a timely and organized manner
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients, and visitors
  • Accurate data entry skills with a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively within busy, demanding, fast paced environments
