About the role

Mater requires a committed Community Physiotherapist to join our Mater at Home team based at the South Brisbane campus.

The position available is a 12-month fixed term contract, working a Part time 0.9 FTE.

The purpose of this role is to deliver a quality clinical physiotherapy community service to the Mater at Home client population, as part of a multidisciplinary team. A variety of funding types are involved, including government-funded programs (including Hospital In the Home, Post Acute Care, Commonwealth Home Support Scheme, Support at Home and NDIS) and privately funded clients in the community.

The role will report directly to the Mater at Home Physiotherapy Clinical Lead and indirectly to the Operations Manager – Allied Health of Mater at Home.

Salary range: $41.06 - $60.35 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

In this Clinical role, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Delivering competent to complex level Physiotherapy services in the community and to adult residents in the Greater Brisbane Area (which includes screening, assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, goal setting, case management and data collection).
  • Manage a clinical workload while contributing to quality improvement activities with the aim to improve service delivery and work processes.
  • Modify standard clinical practice to deal with varying social or environmental constraints and the requirements of a broad range of funding programs by applying clinical judgement to unexpected situations that arise within the patient/client’s place of residence.
  • Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to a complex caseload under the professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
  • Work efficiently to ensure determined targets for productivity, quality, safety, stewardship and client satisfaction are met.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide a clinical and professional liaison role with the wider healthcare team involved with the patient/client, including external service providers.
  • Provide professional advice to carers and other healthcare providers.
  • Manage an appropriate caseload using effective time management and prioritisation skills for clinical and non-clinical responsibilities.
  • Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of healthcare by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development activities as per professional registration standards.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary degree in Physiotherapy
  • A current open or provisional driver’s license, valid for use in Queensland.
  • Registration as a physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Have or have the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and an NDIS Worker’s Screening card (Yellow Card).
  • Experience in community-based physiotherapy is desirable but not necessary.
  • The ability to work independently and meet Key Performance Indicators.
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to build and maintain professional alliances with service partners.
