About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is inviting interest from experienced Registered Nurses who are ready to take the next step in their career by transitioning into a Clinical Nurse role within our Orthopaedic Ward . This opportunity is offered as permeant part-time basis working 32 hours a week. To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Our Orthopaedics ward offer a comprehensive range of orthopaedic care including assessment, evaluation, surgery and after-surgery care. More than 850 hip and knee replacements are conducted annually at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. Our large team of highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeons specialising in upper limb, lower limb and general orthopaedics who consult and operate on site.
Salary range: $56.08 - $60.05 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and the continuum of care
Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of emergency procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
Lead, participate and collaborate with other key stakeholders in the design and implementation of continuous improvement activities and models of care for enhanced service provision.
Liaise with other senior nursing roles and multidisciplinary teams to ensure strong communication networks are maintained.
Identify and actively communicate future issues and new directions for the service.
Escalate issues impacting on clinical practice and care delivery.
Establishes and promotes effective model of care with family that ensure continuity of care.
About you
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
Extensive demonstrated experience in a orthopaedic ward
Post graduate qualification in a relevant field or working towards (desirable)
A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
Strong knowledge of continuous improvement process, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement measures
Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and Clinical Risk policies are also of value.
