About the role

Mater Nutrition and Food Services Division is seeking a Training Coordinator - Foodservice to join the team under a job-share part time arrangement 30 hours per fortnight for a term of 12 months.

The Training Coordinator Foodservices position provides technical guidance and learning and development activities through the application of best practice education. It develops, updates and delivers training modules and materials for Food Services and provides support across Mater kitchen teams to ensure a safe, efficient meal service experience to Mater patients.

Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

You will be providing professional and operational training support in Foodservice.  Reporting to the Manager Food Services, and based at South Brisbane campus, the successful applicant, works closely with the Senior Nutrition and Foodservice team including Corporate Chef, Head Chef, foodservice Team Leaders and Supervisors and Nutrition and Dietetics Team to provide operational support and optimise learning and development across all areas of Foodservices. Travel to other Mater sites may be required.

Your role will involve but not limited to:

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate food service–specific education and training programs (classroom, online and on the job).
  • Apply engaging and effective facilitation techniques to optimise staff participation, learning outcomes and transfer to practice.
  • Develop, update and maintain education and training materials, including online learning modules, in consultation with relevant stakeholders (e.g. managers, subject matter experts, education coordinators and instructional designers).
  • Maintain accurate, up to date training records, sign offs and evidence to support audits and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery and continual improvement of Mater and portfolio specific orientation, induction and onboarding programs for new and returning staff.
  • Develop, update and communicate Safe Work Procedures and training related to food service equipment, chemicals, food safety and room service operations.
  • Perform other related duties as delegated to support effective food service operations.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or other relevant education qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of organisational education and training within specific speciality.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including the ability to organise and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Competence using Microsoft 365 suite of applications, together with the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of computer-based applications relevant to the position including proficiency using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team member, together with the ability to work independently.
