About the role
Mater Mothers' Hospital is currently seeking enthusiastic and experienced Senior Administration Officer to join the team within the Women’s Health Clinics at Mater Mothers Hospital (including Maternal Fetal Medicine, Antenatal Clinic, Gynae Outpatients and Hatch Private Maternity).
Mater Senior Administration Officers are highly experienced in providing medical administration support, including using Patient Administration Systems, within hospital/healthcare environments.
This position is available on a permanent part-time basis, 24 hours per week. The successful applicant must have flexibility between the hours of 07:00am – 5:30pm.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Administration Officer and your role will involve but not limited to:
- Providing exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
- Management of referrals, waitlists and appointment scheduling, aligning with KPIs and reporting requirements and ensuring accurate data entry
- Management of outpatient and inpatient billing, including bulk billing, Medicare ineligible billing and private billing
- Handling all patient enquiries, including phone calls and emails, ensuring positive patient experiences at all interactions
- Supporting clinical teams, ensuring smooth flow of daily clinics
- Providing administrative support to clinic staff
- Maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration and financial policy and procedure, maintaining accurate, current and accessible records
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- At least 3 years’ experience in providing high level administration. Experience working in a hospital setting is highly desirable
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer and data entry skills including MS Office suite and hospital administration systems
- Dynamic, positive and outcome focused
- High level of customer service, verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients and visitors
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of the team
