About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for two experienced Teleservices Administration Officers to join the Mater Health Service. These positions are casual positions working across a 24/7 roster in the Mater central switchboard and main reception. Shifts include a mixture of options including day shifts, afternoon shifts, overnight shifts, weekend shifts and public holidays.
The purpose of this position is to provide an efficient, effective and professional service for customers, patients and staff of the Mater Health Services through the Teleservices Centre and Reception in keeping with the Mater Philosophy.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this position you will be responsible for the following:
Managing a high volume of calls (200-400 calls per shift) and inquiries for Mater Health Services and resolve or redirect to the appropriate department / staff member / extension in a polite and professional manner
Provide reception admin for Mater Hospital Brisbane main reception
Action all emergency codes as required and in accordance with hospital procedures.
Develop and maintain good knowledge of Mater Services, locations, personnel and information necessary to deal with inquiries customary to a forefront position
Monitor alarm systems including fire, medical gasses and security as required
Carry out administrative duties as required
Develop and maintain a good knowledge of rosters and term allocations and be able to utilise them as necessary
Participate in quality improvement activities including the development and maintenance of procedures relevant to the area and education and training activities
Contribute to and maintain an efficient, productive and positive workplace and communicate and co-operate with fellow workers to promote team work within the department
Attend/participate in regular, both singular and work team meetings to review current work practices and participate in appropriate developmental courses
About you
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
Demonstrated recent experience in a similar position (hospital or health setting highly advantageous)
To be available to work shift work including overnights, weekends and public holidays in accordance with the roster
Proficient typing skills and ability to utilise multiple computer systems
Personal attributes
Demonstrated communication skills, particularly over the phone and via email
A positive attitude and approach to work
A commitment to excellent service and accuracy
Mature, well presented, responsible and approachable
Demonstrated reliability, integrity and confidentiality
