About the role
Mater Mothers’ Hospital is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior House Officer to join our Obstetrics & Gynaecology team in a 12-month maximum term, full-time opportunity commencing in 2027 , based in South Brisbane.
This role is designed for junior Medical Officers looking to build their experience in Women’s Health within Australia’s largest maternity service before progressing into General Practice or Specialist training pathways.
Working within our world-class tertiary maternity facility, you will gain broad exposure to obstetrics and gynaecology while being supported by experienced multidisciplinary teams in a highly collaborative and education-focused environment.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while developing your clinical capability across:
Birth Suite and labour ward
Antenatal and postnatal care
Obstetric Medicine
General Obstetrics and Gynaecology services
Assessment and management of women’s health presentations
Participation in education, audit and quality activities
About you
You are an early career Medical Officer who is passionate about Women’s Health and eager to expand your clinical knowledge in a supportive tertiary environment.
You will bring:
Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA
Interest in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Women’s Health
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to learning and continuous professional development
A patient-centred approach to care
