About the role
Mercy Food Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Stores Person / Driver to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with the successful applicant working a four-day week from Tuesday to Friday.
In this role, you will work primarily as a Store Person, and we expect that you will act in the role of Driver once a week. You’ll deliver to external venues and Mater Hospitals between Mackay and Bundaberg and into Emerald. As the Store Person, you will be responsible for deliveries to Mercy Food Services and support tasks which shall assist in providing high quality hygiene and cleaning assistance.
Salary range: $32.02 - $34.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As the Store Person, you will:
- Receive goods delivered to Mercy Food Services in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, and complete Food Safety Documentation as required
- Advise the Food Services Administration Assistant that are not complete or products requiring return
- Ensure that all products delivered are stored in accordance with the Food Safety Plan
- Complete general cleaning tasks to assist in maintaining a clean environment as required
- Perform washroom duties as required ensuring all dishes, pot/pans etc. are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised prior to use
- Perform Kitchen Hand duties as required
As the Driver, you will:
- Check and complete all documentation relating to dispatch and good delivery as per the Food Safety Plan
- Ensure products are complete and ready on the transport trolleys as per dispatch sheets
- Ensure all food product is delivered to clients as per the delivery schedule
- Complete vehicle checks and documentation related to MFS vehicles as per the Food Safety Plan
- Advise the Food Services Manager when regular scheduled services are due for MFS Vehicles
- Ensure Mercy Food Service Equipment is returned in a sound condition
- Check vehicle refrigeration temperatures and monitor during journey
- Clean vehicles as per the weekly cleaning program
- Perform stores duties as required
About you
To be successful in your application, you will have:
- Driver license - Manual MR is essential
- Understanding of food safety principles and basic hygiene
- An ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervision
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Previous truck driving experience
- Food Safety Certificate
- Experience in a commercial cleaning application
