About the role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our General Medical/ Rehabilitation Unit. We offer flexible employment arrangements, with opportunities ranging from Part time to Full time employment from 0.4 FTE to 1.0 FTE to suit your lifestyle and work preferences. 

Our Medical/Rehabilitation Unit is a 16-bed ward providing care for patients across rehabilitation and general medicine, as well as those requiring oncology, cardiology, and telemetry services. The unit offers a diverse and supportive environment, caring for patients with a broad range of clinical needs throughout their recovery and treatment journey. You'll join a compassionate, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care while making a meaningful difference to patients and their families every day.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a valued member of our Rehabilitation team, you will provide safe, evidence-based care while supporting patients throughout their recovery journey. You will:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care using evidence-based practice.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Monitor and care for patients across rehabilitation, general medicine, oncology, cardiology and telemetry.
  • Collaborate closely with medical, allied health and nursing teams to achieve the best patient outcomes.
  • Advocate for patients and involve them and their families in care planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to safe discharge planning.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of continuous learning.
  • Mentor and support graduate nurses, students and colleagues where appropriate.

About you

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who enjoys working collaboratively and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. You will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Previous acute medical, rehabilitation or relevant clinical nursing experience. ( desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Sound clinical assessment, prioritisation and critical thinking skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Current life support competencies relevant to the clinical environment.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in rehabilitation, medical nursing or a related specialty will be highly regarded but are not essential.
