About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Administration Officer to join the team at Catherine's House in a part-time (16 hours per week), maximum-term contract for 6 months.
This is a unique opportunity to support Australia's first dedicated public perinatal mental health mother-baby unit, providing high-quality administrative support that helps deliver exceptional care to mothers, babies and families. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of this world-class service.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You will provide professional administrative support across a busy healthcare environment, helping ensure patients, families and clinicians receive a seamless experience. Responsibilities include:
Provide high-quality administrative support across Catherine's House services
Welcome and assist patients, families and visitors with professionalism and compassion
Coordinate appointments, bookings and patient administration activities
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data is entered promptly and confidentially
Support clinicians and the multidisciplinary team with day-to-day administrative requirements
Manage phone and email enquiries while delivering outstanding customer service
Work collaboratively across administration functions and provide team support and leave coverage as required
Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes and service delivery
About you
You're a compassionate and adaptable administration professional who enjoys working in a patient-centred healthcare environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. You will bring:
Previous administration experience, ideally within a healthcare setting
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Accurate keyboard and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Experience with patient administration systems or healthcare information systems (desirable)
Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare environments (desirable)
A flexible, reliable and collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
